Mogadishu, (insidesomalia.org- Two Ethiopian soldiers were killed and six others wounded on the main Maka Al-Mukarama street in a roadside bomb explosion in the early hours of today (Thursday)

"A weighty blast strike the Ethiopian soldiers as they were examining suspected mines buried along the Maka Al Mukarama road," an eyewitness Siyad Yussuf told inside Somalia.

"I saw two dead soldiers and six others wounded. The soldiers then cordoned off the area and both pedestrians and vehicles were restricted," he added.

"One of the soldiers was inspecting the roadside with a stick when the explosion went off. He was torn to slices and several other soldiers were wounded by the fragments," said Noor Ahmed, another witness.

Maka Al-Mukaram is the solo street used by the Somalia Transitional Federal Government and it was only last thursady when government forcers driving along that road come under explosion and absolutely the Toyota pickup driver turned to almost ash

Ethiopian forces came to the rescue of Somalia's embattled transitional government in late 2006 and soon defeated an Islamist militia that had taken control of large parts of the Horn of Africa country.
